Last night I was asked to participate in an “Ask A Foster Parent” Night for single parents Utah Foster Care. I was humbled to share my experiences and honored to be asked. I left the night with my thoughts turned to the idea of growth.
I have been a foster parent for six years and have had eight different children and as I considered each child’s situation and how I handled my role in their lives I realized how far I have come as a parent. I’ve gained knowledge through experience.
My life lesson and the idea that drives me is to try to be better today than I was yesterday. I’m grateful that I’m a better mom today than I was yesterday and I hope that I continue to grow into what my daughters deserve.
