“Jesus is okay with 12-year waits.”
Those words have been in my head since last week.

The woman had suffered for 12 years with her condition,

She had seen many doctors,

Nothing had helped.

In those 12 years, did she feel forgotten?

Did her faith ever waiver?

Then in a moment, her faith made her whole.

Last Sunday, I pulled out my patriarchal blessing

{for those of other faiths, a patriarchal blessing is a special blessing that contains personal revelation and instructions from our Heavenly Father}

And as I read one of the promises,

I thought to myself,

Is Jesus okay with a 25-year wait?

As I pondered this question,

I remembered another quote that sits on a shelf in my living room,

“Faith in God includes faith in God’s timing.”

Yes, He is okay with a 12, 25, or 40-year wait.

And I realize that so am I.

When I choose to have faith in Him,

I choose to trust that He keeps His promises.

I choose to “Fear not: believe only.”

If you are in the waiting period right now,

Do not give up.

Do not be afraid.

Only believe.

He will keep His promise to you.

Let God prevail,

And in the end, your faith will bring you peace.

Who is watching? This morning my daughter got a h Who is watching?

This morning my daughter got a hold of my phone and started taking pictures as I went through my morning routine.

At first I didn’t realize she was there … but eventually I caught on and was able to smile for her.

The first photo is the one I knew she was there …

The others I was unaware and turned out to be pretty unflattering.

As I looked at the pictures I realized that these pictures are a reminder that we never know who is watching.

As we go through our days what choices are we making that are a reflection of who we are?

When we know there are others present are we trying to look our best?

But are we the same person when we think no one is watching?

Do we make the same choices?

Or is our behavior less flattering?

I challenge each of us to try to always have integrity and to make the same choices wherever we are,

No matter who is in the room.

Yesterday, as I was reading in the New Testament I Yesterday, as I was reading in the New Testament I read the words …

He was moved with compassion on them. {Matthew 9:27 KJV}

And those words made me stop.

He was moved with compassion to feed the 5,000.

He was moved with compassion to heal the leper.

He was moved with compassion for the woman who touched His robe.

He was moved with compassion for Jairus.

Then the thought came,

I am glad that the Savior I believe in, is THIS Savior.

That my Savior is Jesus of Nazareth.

That He is one who loves people and cherishes relationships.

That He is one who knows us each personally.

That He is a one who forgives completely.

That He gives grace freely and is there to help us become more than we could imagine.

I am blessed that He is moved to compassion for me.

I have seen it in my life.

And you can too,

Because I know He is moved to compassion for you.

I woke up on Wednesday morning to a piercing screa I woke up on Wednesday morning to a piercing scream ringing in the air.
I immediately knew it was my daughter and the sound made my heart pause.

She was grabbing her stomach and obviously in a lot of pain.

What do you do?

I started asking questions trying to figure out exactly what we were dealing with.

Unfortunately, my daughter’s responses weren’t helpful.

After 30 or so minutes of the pains coming and going I decided to take her to the emergency room.

As we prepared to leave she was struggling to get to the car.

I was scared.

By the time we checked into the Emergency Room, she was acting normal.

The doctors did a urine test, an ultrasound, and asked a lot of questions but everything came back normal.

By the time we left four hours later, I was feeling foolish.

Had I overreacted?

Maybe I should have just stayed home.

I was shaming myself.

Here’s something to remember:

Children do not come with an “owner’s manual”.

You can’t go to the troubleshooting section and figure out what is wrong.

You have to evaluate each experience and decide what is best in that situation.

Some decisions are easy.

Some are harder.

The thing is … is there really a “wrong” decision when you try and act in their best interest.

What if things had been different?

What if there was something more going on?

In my situation, i said a prayer of gratitude and reminded myself that I’m just glad she is ok.

Just remember: You are doing your best.

I love being the storyteller. I have always been I love being the storyteller.

I have always been a lover of memories. From a young age, I have loved to take pictures. In elementary school, I would carry around a 110 camera and take pictures. I would impatiently wait for my film to be developed and then go back and discover what was saved.

As I aged I discovered scrapbooking, where I could record my memories along with the pictures I had taken in a format to share with others. I was often the historian with my friends, and to this day people still reach out looking for pictures from times past.

Then I became a mother and while it was easy to snap thousands of pictures of my kids, I never found the time to organize them in a way to preserve these memories.

I have recently decided that I wanted to record the stories of my family. I want to have things organized so my girls can look back & remember the big & little moments in their lives.

This has brought out my creative side & I have found some fun new tools, & I thought I would share this focus of my life with you.

To start I decided on a basic format for each year. There are many ways that people do this - with a weekly focus, a monthly focus, etc. I have chosen to do a more activity-oriented focus ... to create pages as things occur.

At the beginning of each year I decided I wanted to share our family focus for the year & highlight each individual with their own page. I share about the current school year, their favorites, who their friends are, etc.

These pages were created using the project life app by @beckyhigginsllc and digital creations by @wilsonwilsonorg. I use Canva to do edits & create graphics.

How do you document your family's history?
